A Blue Jackets Poem
Saturday January 10th, 2008
January 3
My job is to spout for a minute...
With thoughts that describe and to pin it
But goaltending is one
That is having some fun
And I’ll crack a few words that will spin it
We have a young man we call Mason
Who is certainly not going to hasten
As the puck is his task
Not to stop with his mask
But the parts of his bod just like Jason
Last night was a sight for sore eyes
And it certainly wasn't a surprise
He stopped every shot
My gosh was he hot
That the Caps left the rink with the flies
He's had lots of help from his mates
Last night they were absent of greats
It was a young core
That delivered much more
Than a great one that wears number 8
6 games of shutout hockey
Is the chore of a tender that's cocky
His swagger is tight
As he puts up a fight
From the west and back over the Rockies
Each night he shines with the rest
His saves are better then best
The pipes are his friend
As teammates make amend
It is Mason that foes do attest
So tonight is a back to back game
And what we expect is the same
Some scoring would cure
The young tender for sure
As he's back in the net on a flame
The chore in the game what the heck
Is to win one more on the deck
As with Mason in glee
For the Jackets all three
