Columbus Blue Jackets Celebrate Veterans Day with Military Appreciation Night on November 11

COLUMBUS, OHIO – In observance of Veterans Day, the Columbus Blue Jackets will pay tribute to those who have served or are currently serving in the nation's armed forces during Military Appreciation Night on Wednesday, November 11 when the Jackets play host to the Detroit Red Wings. Game time is 7 p.m.

Before the game, the 338th U.S. Army Band will perform on the concourse while fans are encouraged to visit displays featuring battle flags, artifacts and uniforms provided by the Ohio Historical Society and the Ohio National Guard. Fans may also visit informational kiosks to learn more about the Ohio Historical Society, Department of Veteran Affairs, Vietnam Veterans of America, U.S. Army Freedom Team Salute, Wounded Warrior Project and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

Just prior to puck drop, the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines will be represented during the pre-game ritual of carrying the flag followed by the multi-service Honor Guard's participation in the presentation of the national anthem. The evening will also feature in-game recognition of all current and former military personnel in attendance. Fans may also express their appreciation by signing cards that will be sent to overseas troops by The Thank You Foundation.

The Blue Jackets return action Wednesday when they host the Detroit Red Wings at Nationwide Arena. Live high-definition coverage on FOX Sports Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101, and online at www.BlueJackets.com.

Blue Jackets tickets are on sale now at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office, The FOX Sports Ohio Blue Line Team Store at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing, ticket outlets at the Chiller Ice Rinks and all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers.
