November 20

Derek Dorsett was seeing stars after a vicious hit by James Neal in the second period. His teammates made the Stars pay for it with two PP goals in the assessed five minute major, to walk away with a 4-1 victory. It was a 60-minute effort by all and characteristic of a throw back game from the 1970's.

Physical play and fights on behalf of both teams was the theme for the night. The CBJ's set the tempo early and proceeded to get stronger as the game continued. Steve Mason was a star, making some key stops early in the game. Rick Nash deposited some trash for his 14th goal of the year. Kristen Huselius scored the back-breaking goal with a second to go in the first period to allow the CBJ a 2-0 lead. Since his return from a four-game hiatus with an upper body injury, "Juice" has been flying. His legs are moving and his confidence is soaring. The line of Vermette, Huselius and Nash has found some much needed chemistry at the right time. They are a pleasure to watch. With three PP goals and a shorthanded tally on the night, special teams play was the key. The PP is now clicking on 25.0% and is currently fourth(tied) in the NHL.

Watching practice at the Sommet Center today, Hitch is not letting up on the intensity. He has incorporated some tweaks to his breakout and is preparing for some quick transition. Knowing the Preds, his teachings today will definitely have a positive effect in preparing for this tilt. Between talking, drilling and more talking, the team has had a spirited workout.

Absent from the ice today is Derek Dorsett... and hot off the press is the two-game suspension of Neal... justifiably so!

Stay tuned!!!
