Columbus Blue Jackets Place Right Wing Derek Dorsett on Injured Reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Derek Dorsett on Injured Reserve retroactive to November 19, General Manager Scott Howson announced November 23.

Dorsett was injured against Dallas on November 19. He has registered one goal and three assists for four points, 51 penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in 18 games this season. He ranks tied for ninth in the NHL in penalty minutes. The Kindersley, Saskatchewan native tallied 4-1-5 and 150 penalty minutes in 52 games during his rookie season in 2008-09. He was the Blue Jackets' ninth pick, 189th overall, in the 2006 Entry Draft.

The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they visit the New York Rangers. Game time from Madison Square Garden is 7 p.m. ET.
