Quebec Pee Wee Jackets Update IV: Feb. 12, 2010

Quebec City, Quebec (Feb. 12, 2010) - Tournament Game 1: The Blue Jackets opened the Quebec Pee-Wee tournament at Colisee Pepsi, home to such NHL greats as Jean Belliveau. The boys entered the ice tossing footballs to the 2,000 fans in attendance and then, down to business against the Saint John Sea Dogs.

After a scoreless period that saw the Jackets dominate but be thwarted by two goal posts, Jack Roslovic opened the second period scoring with a power play goal off a nice assist from Kole Sherwood. A nervous Jacket crowd watched as the game went to a 15-minute third period, 1-0. They relaxed a bit as Cam Sangster (Dillon Miller) and Josh Basso (Marshal King) scored 30 seconds apart and the Jackets backed goalie Andrew Pettenski to a sweet shutout, 3-0.

Next tournament game for the boys will have to wait until Thursday afternoon when they will play the winners of Tri-State and Austria. You can watch the game live at www.peeweelive.com. Between now and then, there is a visit to the Snow Park, and three exhibition games.
