Columbus Blue Jackets Trade Defenseman Milan Jurcina to Washington for Conditional Sixth Round Pick in 2010 Entry Draft

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired a conditional sixth round pick in the 2010 Entry Draft from the Washington Capitals in exchange for defenseman Milan Jurcina, General Manager Scott Howson announced March 3.

Jurcina was acquired by the Blue Jackets from the Capitals along with forward Chris Clark in exchange for forward Jason Chimera on December 28. Jurcina has tallied 1-6-7 and 24 penalty minutes in 44 games this season, including 1-2-3 and 10 penalty minutes in 17 games with Columbus. He has 15-38-53 and 220 penalty minutes in 319 career NHL games.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Saturday when they visit the San Jose Sharks. Game time from HP Pavilion at San Jose is 10:30 p.m. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio HD begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 10 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan, and WWCD-FM, CD101, and online at BlueJackets.com.
