Back to Stay or Gone in One?

The Vancouver Canucks lived to play another day by pulling out a 4-1 win in Chicago last night. Roberto Luongo gave up 11 goals on 68 shots, during games three and four. Last night, he turned aside 29 of 30 shots and got the offensive support every goaltender loves. The question is, will Luongo and the Canucks be the same team next time out in their own building? Yesterday morning, we had Versus play-by-play man John Forslund on Breakfast With the Blue Jackets. He said he felt last night's game might define Luongo's career. If that is the case, he passed with flying colors, but one sub-par performance in the next two games could wipe that all away.

Speaking of goaltenders, Marc-Andre Fleury and Jaroslav Halak will square off again tonight and this battle could decide the series. Watching these two has been fun for me over the last couple of weeks. Montreal has not had an explosive offensive performance in any of the first five games of the series. That's put the onus on Halak and, with the exception of game one, he's lived up to the challenge. Fleury has done the same thing he's done throughout his career. Sometimes he's great, sometimes he's not. He has already posted a shutout in this series and came just seconds away from a second one. One thing Fleury consistently does is bounce back from a bad performance with a good one. The Penguins need him to be on top of his game tonight.

In Boston, the Bruins need to take a page out of the San Jose Sharks playbook and knock off the Philadelphia Flyers tonight, instead of giving them momentum as they take the series home. The Flyers barely survived with an overtime win Friday night, but could get confidence with a victory tonight. Philadelphia is a tough place to play and if Boston has to do it against a team with a two-game win streak and it's back against the wall, it'll be a lot tougher. The Bruins will be challenged after losing David Krejci for the remainder of the playoffs, but could have Dennis Seidenberg back if they survive a few more weeks.

Will the Eastern Conference Final be set by midnight or will a Cinderella continue to dance at the ball?
