Columbus Blue Jackets Announce Changes to Coaching Staff

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today that former interim head coach Claude Noel, assistant coaches Gary Agnew, Gord Murphy, and strength and conditioning coach Barry Brennan, will not return to the coaching staff for the upcoming 2010-11 National Hockey League season.

"On behalf of the entire Blue Jackets organization, I'd like to thank all of these men for the hard work and commitment they put forth on behalf of our team," said club General Manager Scott Howson. "We expect to have final decisions on the new members of our staff within the next few weeks."

The Blue Jackets, who named Scott Arniel as the club's new head coach on June 8, will open their 10th season in the National Hockey League against the San Jose Sharks on October 8-9 in Stockholm, Sweden as part of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere™ and NHL Face-Off™.

Deposits for 2010-11 season tickets, as well as 10- and 20-game plans, are being accepted now. For information, call (800) NHL-COLS or visit BlueJackets.com.
