COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets introduced a special logo June 22 commemorating the club's 10th season as a member of the National Hockey League. The logo was unveiled before a crowd of over 700 at the Greater Columbus Sports Commission's Annual Morning Sports Report, held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. *WATCH THE VIDEO

The logo features a representation of the state flag of Ohio flying on a silver flag pole above the stylized number "10" with a red and blue ribbon at the bottom featuring the team's official logo between the years 2000 and 2010. The mark utilizes the team's primary colors of Union Blue, representing the color worn by the Union Army during the U.S. Civil War; Goal Red, in reference to the most exciting moment in hockey; and Capital Silver, signifying Columbus as the state capital of Ohio. *VIEW THE PHOTO GALLERY

Team players will wear a patch featuring the commemorative logo on the upper right chest of home and road jerseys during the 2010-11 NHL season, following the club's opening two games vs. San Jose in Stockholm, Sweden on October 8-9 as part of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere™ and NHL Face-Off™. In addition, a 17' x 17' mark will be displayed on the windows above the Front Street entrance to Nationwide Arena beginning today through the end of the season.

Special 10th season merchandise including shirts, pucks, pins, polo shirts and patches are on sale now at the Fox Sports Ohio Blue Line, official team stores of the Blue Jackets, located at Nationwide Arena and The Mall at Tuttle Crossing.
