Collins Named Strength & Conditioning Coach
Collins, 28, joins the Blue Jackets after spending the previous five seasons with the Buffalo Sabres organization as strength and conditioning/video coach. He spent the past two seasons with the Portland Pirates (2008-10) and the previous three with the Rochester Americans (2005-08), the Sabres’ American Hockey League affiliates. He started his career as an intern for Sabres Strength and Conditioning Coach Doug McKenney in 2004-05.
The Detroit, Michigan native, Collins played four years of collegiate hockey at SUNY Brockport, where he graduated with degrees in Exercise Physiology and Business Management. He is certified through National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He was born April 11, 1982.
