Dalton Prout was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 6th round (154th overall) in 2010.
In 2009-10, Prout played in 63 games for the Barrie Colts of the OHL. He scored 7-14-21 while adding 121 penalty minutes as a defenseman. In 17 playoff games, Prout scored 1-6-7, and 20 penalty minutes.
In 2008-09 Prout played in 65 games for Barrie, scoring 0-6-6 with 98 penalty minutes. In five playoff games, Prout scored 0-1-1 with 10 penalty minutes.
In 2007-08, Prout played in 57 games with both the Colts and Sarnia Sting, also of the OHL. He scored 0-5-5 with 82 penalty minutes. In eight playoff games, Prout scored 0-2-2 with 16 penalty minutes.
In 2006-07, Prout played in 49 games with Sarnia and scored 1-2-3 with 36 penalty minutes.

Theodore Ruth was selected by the Washington Capitals in the 2nd round (46th overall) in 2007. He was acquired by trade from the Capitals for Sergei Federov.
In 2009-10, Ruth played in 22 games for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish of the CCHA. He scored 0-5-5 with 52 penalty minutes.
In 2008-09, Ruth played in 36 games for Notre Dame and scored 2-5-7 along with a +12 and 42 penalty minutes.
In 2007-08 Ruth played in 42 games for the Fighting Irish as a freshman, scoring 2-3-5 along with a +13 and 36 penalty minutes.
