In 2007-08, Blomqvist played in 18 games for the Malmo Redhawks of the Swe2 Jr. He scored 0-1-1 and 20 penalty minutes.

In 2008-09, Collins played in 33 games for the Cornell Big Red of the ECAC. He scored 3-3-6 with 16 penalty minutes.
In 2007-08, Collins played in 60 games for the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the MJHL. He scored 51-64-115 with 34 penalty minutes. Collins won the MJHL award for Sportsmanship and Hockey Ability, after a season in which he finished second in the league in scoring. He was a second team MJHL All-Star, and won the MVP of the league’s All-Star game.
