PrintCOLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets and FOX Sports Ohio announced August 25 that the network will carry 75 live regular season Blue Jackets games during the upcoming 2010-11 National Hockey League season. FOX Sports Ohio's coverage of the Blue Jackets begins on Friday, October 15 when the club celebrates its 10th home opener with a 7 p.m. match-up against the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, the same opponent the Jackets faced to open the franchise's inaugural season a decade ago.
FOX Sports Ohio is currently finalizing the schedule of games that will be broadcast in high definition. The complete HD schedule will be forthcoming.

The Blue Jackets will be featured three times nationally on VERSUS, starting with the club's season opener on Friday, Oct. 8 against the San Jose Sharks as part of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere™ and NHL Face-Off™. The game will be televised live from Stockholm, Sweden at 3 p.m. (Eastern). The other VERSUS telecasts feature a home contest vs. the Minnesota Wild on Monday, Dec. 27 at 7:30 p.m. and a road game against Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals from the Verizon Center on Thursday, Mar. 31 at 7 p.m.
FOX Sports Ohio will air 38 home games and 37 away contests during the 2010-11 Blue Jackets regular season. Schedule highlights include six games each against Central Division rivals Chicago, Detroit and Nashville, and five against St. Louis. The FSO slate also features the Saturday, Dec. 4 and Tuesday, Feb. 8 contests against 2009 Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins as well as a New Year's Eve game at Nationwide Arena vs. the Ottawa Senators and a regular-season finale at home against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, Apr. 9.
The FOX Sports Ohio-Blue Jackets broadcast team once again features play-by-play announcer Jeff Rimer, color analyst Bill Davidge and in-game reporter John Michael.
Coverage each game night begins with Blue Jackets Live, a pre-game show presented by Central Ohio Toyota Dealers, featuring interviews and analysis 30 minutes prior to each game. Immediately following the final horn, the coverage continues with the post-game edition of Blue Jackets Live, presented by IGS Energy. Ray Crawford serves as host of the pre- and post-game shows live from Nationwide Arena for home games and from the FOX Sports Ohio studio for road games.
