COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets invite fans to celebrate the team's 10th home opener by visiting the Opening Night Plaza Party presented by Nationwide Insurance on Friday, Oct. 15 before the Jackets host the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks at 7 p.m. The party on the Front St. plaza will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and game tickets are not required to attend.

Fans can enjoy beer, food, music, video highlights and prize giveaways as well as a face painting station for kids and appearances by Stinger and the Pepsi Power Patrol. Also adding to the atmosphere on the plaza will be a pair of live radio and television broadcasts starting with Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan's Mike Ricordati and Scott Torgerson, hosts of "Common Man and The Torg," doing their full show live from the plaza from 3-6 p.m. FOX Sports Ohio’s Ray Crawford and Bill Davidge will host an expanded edition of the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show from their outside broadcast position starting at 6 p.m.

Upon entering Nationwide Arena, all fans will receive a 10th season Opening Night T-shirt courtesy of Tim Hortons. Following the game, all fans will take home a 2010-11 schedule poster courtesy of 10th season presenting partners AAA Ohio, Columbia Gas, FOX Sports Ohio, OhioHealth, Tim Hortons and Time Warner Cable.

Gardiner, who will be recognized with a pre-game video tribute and ceremonial puck drop, will meet fans during a post-game autograph session.
