Rimer's Game Day Ramblings - Oct. 23
After last night's poor performance in a 6-2 loss to the Flames at Nationwide, the Blue Jackets look to bounce back against the defending Stanley Cup Blackhawks here in Chicago. It won't be easy because the 'Hawks dropped a 4-2 decision to the Blues in St. Louis snapping a four game winning steak.
Although Scott Arniel told me that he toyed with the idea of starting Mathieu Garon tonight, but he has chosen to go back to Steve Mason. Mason certainly wasn't at his best last night, but you could say that about most of the hockey club.
Arniel is not a happy man right now and who could blame the Jackets coach. He didn't pull any punches in talking to the media here in Chicago this morning saying "I don't like the fact that Calgary pushed us around and we didn't push back. We have to win the one on one battles, and out of maybe 100 of them last night, we won maybe five of them."
Corey Crawford is expected to start for the Blackhawks tonight, his first ever appearance against the Blue Jackets.
Game time is 8:30 p.m. in Columbus with Blue Jackets LIVE preceding the telecast at 8 p.m. in HD.
