November 6

Mathieu Garon, on an indisputable roll right now, makes his third straight start in the Blue Jackets net as Columbus hosts the Minnesota Wild at Nationwide tonight. It will be the first time since last January that Garon will make three consecutive starts and needless to say he deserves it!

Garon looks calm, confident and most importantly, according to Coach Scott Arniel, "Big in the net." Arniel went on to say, "I haven't seen a change in Mathieu's game since camp. He has been more than patient waiting for his chance to play, working hard in practice and supporting Steve Mason." With Garon's back-to-back shutouts over Montreal and Atlanta he has extended his shutout streak to 133 minutes and 54 seconds.

Garon will likely be opposed at the other end of the ice by Jose Theodore, the Wild back up, despite another solid effort by Niklas Backstrom in the Wild's 2-1 home ice victory last night over the Calgary Flames.

The Wild traveled to Columbus after last night's victory and Arniel is looking for the Jackets to pounce on Minnesota early in tonight's contest, similar to their start in Atlanta Thursday, when they knew the Thrashers had played the night before in Florida.

Don't look for any line or lineup changes tonight, although Derek Dorsett did miss practice yesterday after blocking shots off his foot and shoulder in Atlanta. The "gamer" said that he should be ready to go tonight.

Game time is 7 p.m. on FOX Sports Ohio in HD. Enjoy!
