November 22

The Blue Jackets host one of their top division rivals at Nationwide Arena tonight. The Jackets, after their first ever sweep of California, host a Nashville Predators team that has left them shaking their heads over the past few seasons, having dominated the head to head battles.

Specifically, Nashville took 5 of 6 games in last season's series with 4 of 6 going to overtime or a shootout! Much like they did on the West Coast the Blue Jackets want to end their futility against the Predators, as they did Saturday night in San Jose by recording their first ever regulation win in the Shark Tank. After this morning's pre-game skate Blue Jackets Coach Scott Arniel told the media he told the players to put the California trip behind them and refocus on tonight's challenge with the Predators.

I visited with Predators coach Barry Trotz this morning and the personable coach was complaining about his team's lack of scoring, but that said they have still won four of their last five games, which in effect is a signature of his team... finding a way to win. Trotz is an outstanding coach, witness his tenure. He and Lindy Ruff are the longest standing coaches in all the NHL at this time.

The Predators will be ready, but so will the Blue Jackets. Coach Arniel in addressing the media stated something Blue Jacket fans would be very happy to hear. Simply stated he said, "We have to be better in this building." Adding that, "We have to start over, keep all our good habits from the road, and keep doing all the little things we are doing as a team."

Game time tonight is 7 p.m. on FOX Sports Ohio with "Blue Jackets Live" kicking things off at 6:30 p.m. all in HD.
