Post-Game Quotes
Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel

Commenting on tonight's game…

"Both goaltenders were outstanding. We had some great looks and (Detroit goaltender Jimmy) Howard either got across or made a big save. (Detroit) scored the game-winner on a power play and we didn't score on our (power play). It's been a work in progress all year and we certainly would have liked to have been rewarded on it. We got some real good chances against a really good penalty killing team."

"I thought we played a heck of a hockey game. We got their A-game and I just thought we went stride for stride and toe-to-toe (against them). We had great looks early on in the game and if we could have buried one, maybe it would get them back (on their heels) a little bit and get our building energized."

Blue Jackets Right Wing Jared Boll

Commenting on tonight's game…

"We had a bunch of chances. It was tough, we definitely had our chances to win and get some goals, but their goalie played well and made a bunch of big saves." Commenting on the penalty shot… “I got the shot off and wasn't sure I was going to get the penalty shot or not. They gave me one and he (Howard) made a big save. I came down and saw the glove side was open. But I didn't put it exactly were I wanted it and he made the save."

Blue Jackets Goalie Steve Mason

Commenting on tonight's game…

"They played a real solid game and made some big saves. At the end of the day we had to capitalize more on our chances and I think overall we were happy with the effort."

Detroit Red Wings Head Coach Mike Babcock

Commenting on tonight's game…

"I thought (Jimmy) Howard was good, I thought (Steve) Mason was good. Both goaltenders were good. Howard had to be. I mean we were shorthanded so often it wasn't even funny. I think the penalties we got we deserved, but it looked like a rodeo out there lots of time in front of their net too, so it's amazing to me we weren’t on the power play more. Obviously your best penalty killer is your goaltender, but I thought our guys battled hard. As the game went on I thought our penalty kill got stronger and stronger and we didn’t have to rely on Howard quite as much."
