Two streaks are on the line tonight at Nationwide Arena as the Blue Jackets host the Dallas Stars. The Blue Jackets hope they can end both streaks with a victory over the red-hot Stars.

"Confidence" was the operative word this morning as Jackets coach Scott Arniel met with the media following the morning skate. He talked about the Stars coming to Columbus and I quote, "they are playing well as a group, rolling out one line after another, their ability to get pucks to the net, they are working hard and they have confidence." The same might have been said 10 short days ago about the Blue Jackets before the club started this five-game win-less skid (0-4-1).

For this evening's contest the Jackets coach said it is all about working hard and having a good strong first period. Arniel went on to say with regards to the aforementioned "confidence" that he can show confidence in a player or the players by putting them back on the ice for their next shift. Adding, "the player has to feel good about what he is doing, and gaining the needed confidence is as simple as having a good shift, scoring a goal or having a good game."

The Stars have won six in a row and have given up only nine goals in the six games. Their starting netminder tonight is Kari Lehtonen meanwhile Arniel, as is the norm, did not name his starting goalie nor the lineup changes he plans to make tonight.
