The Blue Jackets continue their Western swing here in Phoenix tonight looking to even-up their four-game trip after stumbling badly in the first game in Nashville Sunday night.

It wasn't even close! After a strong first period, one of the better periods the Jackets have played in the Predators barn in recent memory, they stopped skating forgot what had been successful in their previous three games (all wins) and a strong forecheck and were soundly beaten.

The coaches put the team through an instructional type practice yesterday with plenty of teaching that hopefully will translate to a victory over the Coyotes tonight. That and the benching of the top line clearly sends a message to the entire team.

Talking to Coach Scott Arniel after yesterday's practice the Jackets coach said, "we have to be at our best against Phoenix." Adding, "They are a four line team, two good offensive lines, they have good skill on their back end, a good power play and they are another team sitting just one point behind us."

I do not expect to see any lineup changes tonight but that could change at game time.

Tonight's game is set for 9 p.m. Eastern Time with Blue Jackets Live preceding the telecast at 8:30 p.m. on FOX Sports Ohio.
