Rimer's Game Day Ramblings - Feb. 11
Jackets in must win situation, Forsberg returns
This a BIG weekend for the Blue Jackets.
The Jackets winners of three of their last four starts host the Colorado Avalanche, a team that has lost five in a row, but sit just a point behind them in the Western Conference standings.
Sunday the Blue Jackets will be in Dallas to take on the Stars.
As for tonight's game, Scott Arniel on his Coach's Show last night, on 97.1 The Fan, labeled this game as a "MUST WIN," admitting it was a tough night sleeping Wednesday after his hockey club squandered a 2-0 first period lead and lost 3-2 to the Sharks with every point so important.
Colorado who will be bolstered tonight by the return of Peter Forsberg have won six straight over the Blue Jackets including as pair of 5-1 wins this season. Forsberg told the Denver Post after the Avs morning skate that he is both excited and nervous about his comeback, adding "I don't know how it's going to go, but I'm going to be skating with two great players." Forsberg will be playing on a line with Matt Duchene and Milan Hejduk.
Steve Mason was resting and not at today's CBJ morning skate, and as is the norm, Arniel would not name his starting goaltender. Peter Budaj will start for Colorado.
Game time is 7 p.m. on FOX Sports Ohio in HD with coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. and Blue Jackets Live.
