Columbus Blue Jackets Host Seventh Annual Career Fair February 9 at Nationwide Arena

Event representing over 30 companies includes panel discussion with area sports executives and a ticket to the Blue Jackets game

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced January 16 that the team's seventh annual Career Fair is set for Thursday, Feb. 9 at Nationwide Arena starting at 12:30 p.m. The event gives current college students, recent graduates and experienced professionals access to hiring personnel from the area's professional sports teams, college programs and other leading businesses. The complete registration package includes entry to the career fair, a panel discussion featuring sports executives, a free Blue Jackets hat and a ticket to the game that night when the Jackets host the Dallas Stars at 7 p.m.

For the second year, a component of the Blue Jackets Career Fair is a "Breaking Into Sports" panel discussion from 12:30-1:30 p.m. This year’s panel will feature the following sports executives:

John Browne – Columbus Blue Jackets, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
Vic Gregovits – Cleveland Indians, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Ken Schnacke – Columbus Clippers, President and General Manager
Mike Malo – Columbus Crew, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Alex Slemc – FOX Sports Ohio, Director of Marketing and Communications
Craig Rust – Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School, President
Dan Rossetti (panel moderator) – Managing Partner, Ascension Sports Partners, LLC

During the day, attendees will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from the following sports teams and college programs: Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Clippers, Columbus Crew, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Pistons, IMG College, Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, Lake Erie Monsters, Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Ohio Machine, Ohio State University Athletics, Ohio University Sports, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates and more.

Recruiters and hiring personnel will also be attending from the following companies in the region: Alcatel-Lucent; The Aspire Group; Huntington Bank; Inventiv Communications; Kenda Tires; MPW Industrial Services; Papa John’s; Pelotonia; Prospex; Safelite AutoGlass; Skyline Chili; Sports Management Worldwide; Talis Sports Marketing; Teleperformance; The Columbus Dispatch; Tim Hortons, Verizon Wireless; West Virginia Power; and Worthington Industries. Participants are subject to change.

The Blue Jackets return to action Tuesday when the club hosts the Edmonton Oilers. Game time from Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio HD begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel & Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan in Columbus and online at BlueJackets.com.

Single game tickets for the Blue Jackets home games starting at $26 are on sale now at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office, The OhioHealth Chiller Ice Rinks and all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers.
