Feb. 14 – at BLUE JACKETS 2, St. Louis 1:
Steve Mason made 31 saves to outduel Jaroslav Halak (31 saves) and lead the Blue Jackets past their Central Division rivals. The Blues took a 1-0 lead on a David Backes shorthanded goal at 18:51 of the first period before the Jackets tied the game when James Wisniewski scored a power play goal with 0.01 left in the period. Following a scoreless second, Derek Dorsett tallied the eventual game-winner at 6:49 of the third. The Jackets outshot the Blues 33 to 32 in the game, including a 16-15 edge in the final period… Feb. 18 – Chicago 6, at BLUE JACKETS 1: Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp each tallied 1-2-3 and Corey Crawford made 33 saves to lead the Blackhawks to their sixth-straight win over the Blue Jackets. Columbus took an early 1-0 lead on a Derick Brassard goal 5:13 into the game but Chicago scored twice in the final 7:33 of the first period and twice in the final 6:21 of the second to put the game away… Feb. 19 – at NY Rangers 3, BLUE JACKETS 2 (OT): Columbus overcame 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to force overtime when Rick Nash scored at 18:27 of the third period before the Eastern Conference leaders won it 0:22 into overtime on a goal by Derek Stepan. Brad Richards and Artem Anisimov scored the regulation goals for New York, while Derick Brassard tallied his 11th of the season for Columbus. Steve Mason made 32 saves in net for the Jackets, while Henrik Lundqvist stopped 21-of-23 shots for the Rangers.

The Blue Jackets have converted 9-of-32 chances on the power play (28.1 pct.) in their last eight games, scoring at least one goal in seven of those games. The club went 4-of-42 (9.5 pct.) over the previous 17 games. Columbus has now converted 36-of-221 (16.3 pct.) on the season, climbing to 20th in the NHL. Since beginning the season 0-of-20 in its first four games, the Jackets have converted 17.9 pct. of its chances with the man advantage (36-of-201).

The Blue Jackets have gone 4-3-1 in their last eight games… The club has earned points in three-straight road games (3-2 win at Anaheim on Feb. 3, 3-1 win at Minnesota on Feb. 11 and 3-2 OTL at NY Rangers on Feb. 19)… Columbus has killed off 16-of-20 opponent power plays over the past eight games (80.0 pct. penalty kill) with three of the PP goals allowed coming on four attempts vs. Anaheim on Feb. 12… The NHL trade deadline is on Monday, Feb. 27 (3 p.m. ET).


C Derick Brassard has points in six of the last nine games (4-4-8) and has tallied 6-6-12 in his last 15 outings. In 27 games since Dec. 18, he has racked up 9-10-19 with five multi-point outings to raise his season totals to 11-13-24 in 51 games. He has scored goals in each of his last two games vs. Chicago on Feb. 18 and at NY Rangers on Feb. 19.

C Antoine Vermette has points in three of the last four games, as well as recording 3-9-12 the last 18 games after being held to 1-1-2 the previous 13 games… LW Rick Nash has points in six of the last eight games after scoring his 19th goal of the season against the Rangers on Sunday. He has 2-5-7 during that stretch, while collecting 6-7-13 the last 20 games… C Jeff Carter has points in three of the last four games and in five of the last eight games (2-3-5) after being held to 0-1-1 the previous seven games… LW R.J. Umberger picked up his first assist in nine games with a helper Sunday at NY Rangers. He has recorded 6-10-16 the last 28 games after being held to 3-4-7 the first 26 games of the season… RW Derek Dorsett had a game-high five hits and added two penalty minutes Sunday at NY Rangers. He ranks second on the Blue Jackets in hits with 150 to his credit, while his 177 penalty minutes rank first in the NHL.

The calendar features Blue Jackets players alongside assistance dogs and puppies in training from Canine Companions for Independence®, the nation’s largest non-profit provider of trained assistance dogs to children, adults and veterans with physical disabilities.
