Front Street Friday: Great Weather, Great Time
Another #CBJFSF is in the books, and this week's event with Jared Boll was a blast for all in attendance
It was a beautiful, warm Friday afternoon in the Arena District -- and what better time for Blue Jackets fans to gather and enjoy food, drinks, music and games? The Blue Jackets put on another fun-filled "Front Street Friday" event today, and fans turned out in droves to enjoy the weather, talk some hockey (the NHL Draft is a week away!) and get an autograph from Jared Boll.
The party got under way around 11:30 a.m. and lasted until nearly the 2 o'clock hour. The line to get Boll's autograph kept growing as time passed, and before too long, the line extended back toward the restaurants and Park Street. Fans brought jerseys, pictures, pucks and other team memorabilia for Boll to sign, and the lovable enforcer was a hit throughout the afternoon.
In addition to great music being played and a "bounce house" set up near the entrance to the FS Ohio Blueline team store, fans were able to enjoy Sugardale Hot Dogs and Pepsi products for just $1 each. Whether it was a nice break from work on a lunch hour or an afternoon with the kids to kick off summer, Blue Jackets fans had a great time at Front Street Friday and said they are looking forward to more events during the offseason.
And they won't have to wait for long -- one week from today is the Blue Jackets 2012 NHL Draft Party, which will be held at Nationwide Arena beginning at 6 p.m. Friday. Come down to the arena to watch the first round of the draft, grab dinner and catch player appearances by James Wisniewski, Cam Atkinson and R.J. Umberger!
One last thing: Jackets TV was on hand for today's event, and has a full recap of all the festivities. Catch the video (featured above), hosted by Bob McElligott of Blue Jackets radio.
