The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed left wing Jonathan Audy-Marchessault to a standard three-year entry level contract, club Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Audy-Marchessault (pronounced OH-dee MAHR-sheh-Soh) made his professional debut with the American Hockey League’s Connecticut Whale in 2011-12 and recorded 24 goals and 40 assists for 64 points with 54 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in 76 games. He led the club in assists and power play goals (11, ranked 13th-tied in the AHL) and was second in goals and points.

The 21-year-old native of Cap-Rouge, Quebec played four seasons with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2007-11. He totaled 98-141-239, 188 penalty minutes and a +93 cumulative plus/minus rating in 254 career games. He set career highs in goals, assists and points with 40-55-95 and 41 penalty minutes in 68 games in 2010-11 to lead the club in all three categories. He also led the league in game-winning goals (11), ranked fifth (tied) in goals and was sixth (tied) in points, en route to being named QMJHL First-Team All-Star. He added 11-22-33 in 18 playoff games to lead the QMJHL in playoff points and assists.
