COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned center Boone Jenner to the Ontario Hockey League’s Oshawa Generals and defenseman Ryan Murray to the Western Hockey League’s Everett Silvertips, club Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Jenner, 19, was Columbus’ first pick, 37th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft. He has registered 66 goals and 98 assists for 164 points with 207 penalty minutes in 171 career OHL games with Oshawa, including 22-27-49 with 59 penalty minutes and a +12 plus/minus rating in 43 games while serving as the club’s captain in 2011-12. A native of Dorchester, Ontario, he collected 0-2-2 and 29 penalty minutes in five games at the 2012 World Junior Championships, helping Canada win the bronze medal. He made his professional debut with the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons at the end of the 2011-12 campaign and scored a goal with two penalty minutes in five games.

Murray, 18, was the club’s first pick, second overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft. A two-time WHL West Second Team All-Star, he has registered 20-84-104 with 107 penalty minutes and a cumulative +51 plus/minus rating in 168 career WHL games with Everett. The Silvertips’ captain, he tallied 9-22-31 and 31 penalty minutes in 46 games a year ago and led club defensemen in goals, assists and points despite an injury shortened season. He also represented Canada at the 2012 World Junior Championships (bronze medal) and the 2012 World Championships. The White City, Saskatchewan native recorded 6-40-46, 45 penalty minutes and was +18 in 70 games in 2010-11 and notched 5-22-27 with 31 penalty minutes and was +33 in 52 games in 2009-10.
