Blue Jackets reassign Nick Drazenovic to Springfield Falcons
Drazenovic, 26, appeared in four games during his stint with Columbus
COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets today announced that center Nick Drazenovic has been reassigned to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Drazenovic, 26, has recorded three shots on goal, four hits and 16 faceoff wins in four games with Blue Jackets and 16 goals, 30 assists, 46 points and a +10 plus/minus rating in 47 games with the Falcons this season. He ranks second on Springfield in assists, points and power play goals (nine) and is tied for fourth in goals. In 41 appearances with Springfield last season, Drazenovic recorded 13-28-41 and 16 penalty minutes.
A native of Prince George, British Columbia, Drazenovic was signed by the Blue Jackets as a free agent on July 1, 2011 after spending four seasons in the Blues organization. The 6-1, 192-pound center was St. Louis’ sixth pick, 171st overall, in the 2005 NHL Draft and skated in three games with the Blues (0-0-0) and 278 games with their AHL affiliate in Peoria (70-90-160) from 2007-11.
The Blue Jackets return to action tomorrow night when they host the two-time reigning President’s Cup champion Vancouver Canucks. Game time is 7 p.m. at Nationwide Arena.
