Blue Jackets add defenseman Cody Goloubef to the roster on emergency recall from the Springfield Falcons

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets today announced that defenseman Cody Goloubef has been added to the roster on emergency recall from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

Goloubef, 23, has appeared in nine games with Columbus this season, recording 1-0-1 in addition to eight hits, six blocked shots and 11 shots on goal. He scored his first career NHL goal on Feb. 11 vs. San Jose. The Blue Jackets’ second pick, 37th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft, Goloubef has registered 11-30-41 and 117 penalty minutes in 123 career AHL games, including 5-7-12 in 25 appearances with Springfield this season. Prior to turning pro, the 6-1, 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario played three seasons at the University of Wisconsin, collecting 12-25-37 and 138 penalty minutes in 118 games from 2007-10.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Thursday when they host the Chicago Blackhawks at Nationwide Arena.
