Q: Did you have any idea where you might wind up? Did you know the Blue Jackets might be in the mix?
OB: “Yeah, I had a little feeling about the Blue Jackets. I thought maybe (I would go) second or third round so it fit perfect in the third round. I’m very happy about it.”
Q: What do you see as the strengths in your game?
OB: “Well I want to consider my game as an offensive game. I like to make plays and score goals so mostly offense, but I feel like I’m also a player that can help with the defensive part of the game.”
Q: Does it matter to you where you play up front?
OB: “Just right wing I guess – maybe left. It’s not a big deal to me.”
Q: If they asked you in the NHL to play the other wing you’d probably try it?
OB: “I would, yeah.”
Q: When talking about the strength of your game, what things do you feel that you have to improve upon now as you try to make that jump to the next level? Will you start to pick out certain things and concentrate on them to try and get more NHL ready?
OB: “One of the things I need to work on is my size. I don’t weigh too much and I just need to gain weight and get stronger so I can win battles in the corners and all over the ice. So right now I’m focusing on my weight and physicality.”
Q: What kind of a physical regimen do you do right now, and will that change at all in terms of the strength training that you do?
OB: “I try to work on my legs a lot to get faster and stronger in the legs. Of course I do a little upper body so I can maybe win some fights occasionally, even though that’s not my game. But I try to work on my legs a lot.”
Q: Did you follow anything with the Blue Jackets or pay any attention just in case you did slide that sweater on today?
OB: “No, not really. I think I was focused about myself today mostly just waiting for my name to be called up, so not too much to be honest.”
