Blue Jackets trade rights to defenseman Drew Olson to Tampa Bay for future considerations
COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded the rights of defenseman Drew Olson to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for future considerations, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Olson, 23, was Columbus’ fourth pick, 118th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft. The Brainerd, Minnesota native played four seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 2009-13, registering three goals and 18 assists for 21 points and 109 penalty minutes in 147 career games.
