Columbus Blue Jackets Assign Eight Players to American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons
COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned eight players to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. A full list of players assigned to the Falcons can be found below:
NOTE: Craig, Goloubef, Skille, McKenna and Smith have all been placed on waivers for the purpose of being assigned to the AHL.
The Blue Jackets open their 13th National Hockey League season on Friday, October 4 when the Calgary Flames visit Ohio’s capital city for a 7 p.m. showdown at Nationwide Arena. Several exciting events and promotions are planned for this season-opening contest, including a special pre-game Opening Night Plaza Party presented by Nationwide Insurance that will begin at 4 p.m. Golf legend Jack Nicklaus is set to perform the ceremonial puck drop on Friday night while all fans in attendance will receive a complimentary magnet schedule courtesy of Papa John’s.
