Blue Jackets activate defenseman Dalton Prout off injured reserve
COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Dalton Prout off of Injured Reserve, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Prout, who has missed the last six games with a strained back, is expected to return to the lineup tonight when the Blue Jackets visit the Toronto Maple Leafs. Game time is 7 p.m.
Prout, 23, has tallied 0-1-1 and 12 penalty minutes in 13 appearances with Columbus this season. He has recorded 1-7-8, 37 PIM and a +10 plus/minus rating in 46 career NHL games, all with the Blue Jackets.
Originally selected by Columbus in the sixth round, 154th overall, of the 2010 NHL Draft, Prout has appeared in 102 games with the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, recording 5-17-22, 127 PIM and a +3 rating. Prior to turning pro the 6-3, 222-pound blueliner spent five seasons (2006-11) in the Ontario Hockey League with Saginaw and Barrie, amassing 17-49-66, 436 PIM and a +16 rating in 286 games.
