Blue Jackets assign defenseman Tim Erixon to Springfield Falcons
Erixon, 22, was recalled by Columbus on November 17 and was +1 in 18:05 of action at Vancouver in his lone appearance with the club on November 22. At the time of his recall, he was leading the Falcons in scoring with 3-10-13 and had a +4 plus/minus rating in 10 games.
The 6-2, 200-pound defenseman tallied 0-5-5, 14 penalty minutes and was +4 in 31 games with the Jackets in 2012-13 and added 5-24-29 and a +9 rating in 40 games with the Falcons. He was a member of Team East at the 2013 AHL All-Star Classic and was voted into the starting lineup by fans.
Acquired by Columbus in a trade with the New York Rangers on July 23, 2012, Erixon has registered 0-7-7, +3 in 50 career NHL games and 11-64-75, +18 in 92 career AHL games.
He was originally selected by Calgary in the first round, 23rd overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
