By The Numbers: Blue Jackets at Devils

Welcome to By The Numbers. Here, we'll break down the most important facts, figures and statistics from that night's game. Despite the final score, there's more to the game's story than the numbers on the scoreboard.

Here's a look at some of the most notable statistics and numbers from the Blue Jackets' 2-1 shootout win over the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center:

0 - Shootout wins for the Devils this season, who have lost all six games that have required more than 65 minutes of play.

0.967 - Brodeur's save percentage, which was .026 better than winning goalie McElhinney's. Brodeur played outstanding tonight but was unable to come up with a big save on Atkinson in the shootout.

2 - Shootout winning goals for Cam Atkinson this season. He lifted the Blue Jackets over the Islanders with his winning goal on Oct. 5.

10:38 - Minutes played by Devils' winger Ryane Clowe, who participated in his first game since Oct. 13 after he was sidelined with a concussion. He also recorded four hits and blocked a shot.

11 - Period scoring streak for the Blue Jackets, which ended during the second period. That was their longest period scoring streak since

the team-record streak of 14, set from Jan. 25, 2011's third period to the first period of the Feb. 9, 2011 game.

13 - The shot differential at the end of tonight's contest. The Blue Jackets outshot the Devils 30-17 and allowed just four shots to get through to Curtis McElhinney in the second period. That is the second largest shot differential in favor of the Blue Jackets this season behind the Dec. 6 game where the Blue Jackets outshot the Wild 41-20.

16 - Points this season for Brandon Dubinsky in 15 games against Metropolitan Division opponents. He had an assist tonight and now has four goals and 12 assists in that span.

73 - Mark Letestu's faceoff-win percentage. He won 8-of-11, including 75 percent in both the offensive and neutral zones. With Dubinsky playing on wing, Letestu picked up extra faceoffs and won the draws when they mattered most.

82 - Days since Mark Letestu's first goal of the season. He is still searching for his second of the year and took six shots on goal tonight--two of which came on the power play.
