Five Blue Jackets named to 2014 Olympic teams in Sochi
Four Blue Jackets have been named to Russia\'s 2014 Olympic hockey team, and five Jackets in total will represent their countries in Sochi.



COLUMBUS, OHIO – Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, center Artem Anisimov and defensemen Fedor Tyutin and Nikita Nikitin were among the 25 players named to the Russian National Men’s Ice Hockey Team on Tuesday, while right wing Marian Gaborik has been selected to represent Slovakia at the upcoming 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. In addition to those players, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen will serve as the assistant general manager for Team Finland and Head Coach Todd Richards will serve as an assistant coach for Team USA.

Tyutin, 30, has represented Russia at the last two Olympic Games in Turin, Italy (2006) and Vancouver (2010), as well as the IIHF World Championships (2008, gold; 2011), World Junior Championships (2002, gold; 2003, gold) and World U18 Championships (2001, gold). A native of Izhevsk, Russia, he has recorded 50 goals and 174 assists for 224 points in 646 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and New York Rangers, including 4-13-17 and 22 penalty minutes in 40 games this season.

Bobrovsky, 25, has previously represented Russia at the IIHF World Junior Championships (2008, bronze) and 2007 Super Series. He won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goaltender in 2012-13 after going 21-11-6 with a 2.00 goals-against-average, .932 save percentage and four shutouts in his first season with Columbus. In 145 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers, the Novokuznetsk, Russia native is 74-45-18 with a 2.53 GAA, .916 SV% and five shutouts. He is 11-11-2 with a 2.72 GAA, .910 SV% and one shutout in 24 games in 2013-14.

Anisimov, 25, has represented Russia at the IIHF World U18 Championships (2006), World Junior Championships (2007, silver; 2008, bronze) and World Championships (2010, silver). The 6-4, 198-pound native of Yaroslavl, Russia has tallied 69-77-146 in 322 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Rangers. He has picked up 12-8-20 and six penalty minutes in 43 games this season and ranks second on the club in goals.

Nikitin, 27, is a native of Omsk, Russia. He won a gold medal with Team Russia at the 2012 IIHF World Championships and captured silver at the 2006 World Junior Championships. In 176 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues, Nikitin has recorded 13-48-61 and 57 penalty minutes. In 36 games in 2013-14, he has collected 2-9-11 with 12 penalty minutes and a team-leading +9 plus/minus rating.

Gaborik, 31, will be representing Slovakia at his third Olympics (2006, 2010). He has also participated in four World Championships (2001, 2004, 2005, 2007), the World Cup of Hockey (2004) and World Junior Championships (1999, bronze and 2000). The Trencin, Slovakia native is a three-time All-Star who has registered 341-345-686 and 410 penalty minutes in 787 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Rangers and Minnesota Wild. Currently sidelined due to a broken collarbone, he has tallied 5-7-12 and six penalty minutes in 18 games this season.
