Blue Jackets recall defenseman Cody Goloubef from Springfield Falcons (AHL)
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Cody Goloubef from the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Goloubef is expected to join the club in New Jersey for Thursday’s game against the Devils.
Goloubef, 24, has appeared in three games with the Jackets this season, recording one hit, one shot on goal and two penalty minutes in 31:53 of action. The 6-1, 195-pound blueliner has scored six goals and dished out 16 assists for 22 points in 48 games played with Springfield this season, while also registering a +9 plus/minus rating and 75 penalty minutes.
Columbus’ second pick, 37th overall, at the 2008 NHL Draft, Goloubef has registered 1-0-1 in 15 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and 17-47-64 and 209 penalty minutes in 184 career AHL games. He was named to the AHL’s 2014 All-Star Team and tallied an assist and a +2 plus/minus rating in a 7-2 win over Farjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League in the All-Star Game on February 12.
The Blue Jackets return to game action on Thursday when they visit the New Jersey Devils in a matchup of Metropolitan Division rivals. Game time from Prudential Center is 7 p.m. ET.
