Winning the "special teams battle" is a huge focal point for teams as they try to take advantage of opponents' mistakes. This is especially important on home ice, when teams look to dictate the pace and draw penalties - and five teams stand out as the league's best.

With all kinds of talent up front, it's not much of a surprise that the Pittsburgh Penguins own the NHL's best power play on home ice.
