Goal Oriented: Artem Anisimov
It doesn’t take an expert to figure this out, but Artem Anisimov likes to get into the "hard areas" to score goals.
The 25-year-old Blue Jackets center and 2014 Russian Olympian rarely misses an opportunity to push his way to the crease to create scoring chances. When the puck isn’t on his stick, Anisimov (6-foot-4) battles for position in front of the net for rebounds and any secondary opportunities. It's a big reason why he enjoyed career-best offensive success this past season.
Anisimov developed into one of Columbus’ primary offensive threats in 2013-14; his 22 regular season goals, a career high, was a mark bested only by Ryan Johansen and it was twice as many goals as he registered during the 2012-13 season.
