Blue Jackets announce 2014-15 television schedule
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today that each of the club’s 82 regular season games in 2014-15 will be televised live, including 81 on FOX Sports Ohio as the club’s rightsholder unveiled its schedule for the upcoming season.
FOX Sports Ohio’s Emmy-winning coverage of the Blue Jackets begins on Thursday, October 9 when the club opens the regular season with a road game against the Buffalo Sabres. Game time is 7 p.m. Coverage of the club’s home-opener on Saturday, October 11 against the New York Rangers in a battle of Metropolitan Division rivals will include a special one-hour edition of the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show beginning at 6 p.m. The FOX Sports Ohio/Blue Jackets broadcast team will feature play-by-play announcer Jeff Rimer, color analyst Jody Shelley, contributor and host Bill Davidge and rink side reporter Dave Maetzold.
FOX Sports Ohio will air 41 home games and 40 away contests during the 2014-15 Blue Jackets regular season. In addition, NBC Sports Network will televise the Thursday, February 19 encounter between the Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Penguins live to a national audience from CONSOL Energy Center. Game time is 7 p.m. for the rematch of last spring’s memorable first round Stanley Cup Playoffs series.
Throughout the campaign, live game night coverage on FOX Sports Ohio begins with Blue Jackets Live, a 30-minute pre-game show featuring highlights, player interviews and analysis. Coverage continues after the game with the post-game edition of Blue Jackets Live, presented by IGS Energy. The pre- and post-game shows will be hosted by Bill Davidge and Brian Giesenschlag.
