SAM McMASTER, Amateur Scout
Sam McMaster

Sam McMaster has been a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets organization since 1999, serving as an amateur scout. In that role, he is responsible for evaluating junior and college players throughout Western Canada and the U.S. for the Blue Jackets.

A highly respected judge of talent with over 20 years of NHL experience working in hockey operations for several teams, McMaster served as the general manager of the Los Angeles Kings from 1994-97. He also spent many successful years as an administrator in junior hockey. While working in the Ontario Hockey League, he served as the general manager of the Sudbury Wolves and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, helping his teams to 10 playoff berths in 11 seasons, three regular season championships and one playoff championship.

A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, he and his wife, Colleen, reside in Vernon, British Columbia.
