Larry Hoepfner serves as the Columbus Blue Jackets executive vice president of business operations and has been a member of the organization since June 2005. He oversees the business initiatives of the Blue Jackets with a particular emphasis on the corporate and ticket sales and service efforts and broadcasting partnerships with FOX Sports Ohio and the Blue Jackets Radio Network. He is also actively involved in all facets of the organization’s business efforts, including the guest services, merchandising, marketing, promotions, client services, communications, fan development, community development and event presentation departments. Hoepfner joined the Blue Jackets after spending eight years at FSN Florida, where he most recently served as vice president of advertising sales. He oversaw sales for the cable sports affiliate and its relationships with the NHL’s Florida Panthers, MLB’s Florida Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays and the University of Miami, as well as FSN programming that included among others NASCAR and The Best Damn Sports Show Period. He joined the organization in 1997 as vice president of marketing and affiliate sales for then-SportsChannel Florida. Prior to his stint with FSN Florida, Hoepfner was the director of consumer marketing in the southeast region for Continental Cablevision from 1988-97 and the director of marketing for Hauser Communications in Minneapolis and Washington, D.C. from 1982-88. A native of Peoria, Illinois who graduated from Forest Park High School in Cincinnati, Hoepfner attended Miami University in Oxford and earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications in 1979. He received his master’s of business administration at the University of Miami (Florida) in 1996. Larry and his wife, Molly, reside in Powell and are the parents of daughters, Kristen and Lauren. |
