Todd Sharrock was named vice president of public relations for the Columbus Blue Jackets in May 2006. He originally joined the organization as director of communications in February 2000 and was named executive director of communications in July 2005. He oversees the club’s communications and community relations departments, including media relations, publications, player relations, as well as editorial content on the club’s website and social media platforms. Sharrock came to Columbus after spending five seasons with the Houston Aeros, joining the expansion International Hockey League club in 1994 and serving as the director of communications through the 1998-99 season. He also served as a media relations consultant for Houston NFL Holdings LLC during its successful bid to acquire an expansion National Football League franchise that became the Texans. Prior to his stint in Houston, he served as the assistant director of public relations for the NHL’s Dallas Stars during the 1993-94 season, the club’s first in Texas. He began his career as director of public relations with the Dallas Freeze of the Central Hockey League in 1992. |
