|TODD SHARROCK, Vice President of Public Relations
|Todd Sharrock serves as the vice president of communications and team services for the Columbus Blue Jackets. In his role, he is responsible for the club’s media relations and publicity initiatives, editorial content and the production of team publications, as well as team services efforts that include the coordination of team travel, player relocation and serving as a liaison between the club’s business and hockey operations departments.
Sharrock joined the Blue Jackets in February 2000 as director of communications, was named executive director of communications in July 2005 and promoted to vice president of public relations in May 2006. In addition to his current responsibilities, he has been actively involved in the club’s community relations programs, as well as the development and implementation of its website operations and social media initiatives.
Sharrock came to Columbus after spending five seasons with the International Hockey League’s Houston Aeros from 1994-99. He also served as a media relations consultant for Houston NFL Holdings LLC during its successful bid to acquire an expansion National Football League franchise (Texans).
Prior to his stint in Houston, he served as the assistant director of public relations for the NHL’s Dallas Stars during the 1993-94 season and began his career as director of public relations with the Dallas Freeze of the Central Hockey League in 1992.
A native of Galion, Ohio, Sharrock attended The Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism in and a master’s degree in sport management and was a student assistant in the sports information office.
He currently serves on the Board of Commissioners for the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and is a past member of the National Hockey League Public Relations Advisory Council.
He and his wife, Krystal, are the parents of a son, Landry, and daughter, Maggie. The family resides in New Albany.
