- On the ice…The team’s first season in the Eastern Conference proved to be its best ever. Divisional rivalries developed with opponents like the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers. As one of the youngest teams in the NHL, players such as leading scorer Ryan Johansen, Matt Calvert, Cam Atkinson, David Savard and rookie standouts Boone Jenner and Ryan Murray showed why the Blue Jackets are considered one of the League’s most promising and exciting teams
- Off the ice…Fans and corporate partners showed their support as attendance at home games during the regular season was the highest since the 2009-10 season, and corporate support is stronger than ever.
- In the community…As the charitable arm of the hockey club, the Foundation leverages its unique resources – players, coaches, staff and fans – to partner with and invest in central Ohio charities. Since its inception in 2000, the Foundation has invested over $4.7 million locally to fight pediatric cancer, grow and support youth hockey, and to keep kids healthy and safe.
- On the horizon…The eyes of the hockey world will be focused on Columbus as the Blue Jackets and the city of Columbus host the 2015 National Hockey League All-Star Celebration in January. The League’s mid-season showcase will take place Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25 and will include the NHL All-Star Skills Competition and the NHL All-Star Game.
