- A new era…During the 2012-13 season, the management team was fortified with the addition of Hall of Fame broadcaster and veteran hockey executive John Davidson as president of hockey operations and Jarmo Kekalainen, the NHL’s first European-born general manager.
- On the ice…The 2012-13 club achieved its highest winning percentage in franchise history; posted an impressive 14-5-5 record at Nationwide Arena; and supported the extraordinary play of goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, who captured the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goaltender.
- In the community…The team’s charitable foundation awarded a record $525,000 to local community and youth hockey organizations, bringing the Blue Jackets Foundation’s cumulative grant total to more than $4.7 million since 2000.
- On the horizon…The 2013-14 season will mark the Blue Jackets’ first as a member club of the NHL’s Eastern Conference, a realignment that puts Columbus alongside new division rivals - New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils, Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders.
