EDITOR'S NOTE:
You've arrived at the latest edition of the CBJ Power Rankings, our weekly breakdown of the top-five players, statistics, trends and many other Blue Jackets-related categories. If you're looking for the traditional power rankings, you've come to the wrong place. We'll go in-depth and outside the box, and hopefully, give you something to think about.

Who were the Blue Jackets' leaders in the plus/minus department during the past week of play, and what else did they bring to the table? Let's take a look.

BLAKE COMEAU
THIS WEEK: +2
ALSO: set franchise record for hits in a single game on Dec. 3 (11)

Blake Comeau was an under-the-radar pickup at last year's NHL trade deadline and he brought a much-needed edge to the Blue Jackets' forward group. He's proven that he can play just about anywhere in the lineup, including both special teams units, but what's really been noticeable this season is Comeau's physical game. He's played primarily on one of the Blue Jackets' checking lines - most recently with Artem Anisimov and Boone Jenner, a line that had the best 5-on-5 shot differential (15-0) in the NHL on Friday nights this season - and has laid some serious body checks to get the Blue Jackets involved on the forecheck. Hits aren't always indicative of how the game is going, but Comeau shattered the season high for hits in game (11, previous season-high was 7) and unofficially broke the franchise record in single-game hits on Tuesday night, seemingly hitting everything in a Lightning sweater during the Blue Jackets' hard-fought 1-0 victory.
