EDITOR'S NOTE: You've arrived at the CBJ Power Rankings, our weekly breakdown of the top-five players, statistics, trends and many other Blue Jackets-related categories. If you're looking for the traditional power rankings, you've come to the wrong place. We'll go in-depth and outside the box, and hopefully give you something to think about.

The Blue Jackets are in the thick of a frantic sprint to the finish line and in the playoff mix with 15 games to play, and a combination of several things has contributed to their success in 2013-14. But one thing tends to stand out, and that's their 5-on-5 play; not only do the Jackets hold one of the NHL's best goals-per-game rates (No. 8 overall entering Monday's games) but they're doing a solid job defending as a unit.

As a result, the Blue Jackets own one of the Eastern Conference's best even-strength goals for/against ratios this season, but where exactly do they stand? That's why we're here with another edition of the YP Power Rankings, so follow along as we break down the best of the East!

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS
5-on-5 F/A RATIO: 1.09

The Blue Jackets' recipe for success is no secret: when they're on top of their game, all four lines are rolling and contributing significant minutes, and they're frustrating opponents with a relentless forecheck. At even strength, the Blue Jackets are a handful for opponents and a prime example of this was Tuesday's game against the Red Wings. Columbus had all 12 forwards involved in an eventful third period and it wore down the Red Wings...coupled with solid goaltending, this has made them a formidable 5-on-5 hockey club.
