Columbus Blue Jackets Rbk EDGE Uniform System™

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: When will the jerseys arrive?

A: The NHL and Reebok have informed us the jerseys will arrive in Columbus in mid-September. The Blueline will be the first retailer in central Ohio to have the jerseys available to fans and the only retailer able to sell the jerseys (other than NHL.com) for the first seven days from the time they arrive.

Q:  Why do the jerseys cost more?

A: The materials of the new jersey are much improved over to the former jerseys. The new jerseys feature new, performance materials which are more comfortable and durable.

The new jerseys include these performance materials: stretch mesh, which provides ventilation and greater range of motion; 4Way Stretch Pique, featuring Rbk’s Bead Away™ water repellent technology; X-trafil, which provides durability; and a stretch fabric in the collar featuring Reebok’s innovative PlayDry moisture management technology to maximize comfort and breathability.

Q:  Why are there no large horizontal stripes across the middle of the jersey?

A: Including larger horizontal stripes like many jerseys of the past would limit the player’s range of motion and not take full advantage of the performance benefits of the new uniform.

Q:  Why did the crest of the jersey change?

A: The logo featuring a depiction of the state of Ohio flag, shaped in the letter “C” for Columbus, wrapping around the star has been tremendously popular with fans since it was introduced in 2003-04. Making this logo the crest of the home and away jerseys is due to its popularity with the fans. Also, the Blue Jackets have fans across the state of Ohio and this logo does a better job of letting everyone know the Blue Jackets are Ohio’s team.

Q: What is the difference between the authentic and the premier (formerly referred to as the replica) jersey?

A: The new premier jersey includes some moisture management benefits but does not feature the Bead Away™ water repellent technology. The shoulder patches are constructed of a printed tackle twill rather than embroidery. The stretch pique of the premier is two-way rather than four-way. Also, the replica jersey does not feature the “fight” strap.

Q: Will there be a third jersey?

A: There will be no third jerseys in the NHL in 2007-08 due to the fact that Reebok is dedicating a large amount of production resources to produce 60 new jerseys (2 for each of the 30 teams). The Blue Jackets will not be introducing a third jersey any earlier than the 2009-10 season.
