Chris Mizer served as the head athletic trainer for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He joined the club after spending the 1999-00 season as the head trainer for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, Anaheim's American Hockey League affiliate. His has also served as the trainer for Team USA at the World Cup of Hockey 2004 and the 2003 World Championships in Finland. He also spent three seasons with the Indianapolis Ice, Chicago's International Hockey League affiliate, from 1996-99, worked the 1999 IHL All-Star Game and with the Columbus Chill of the East Coast Hockey League. A native of Dover, Ohio, Mizer earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from The Ohio State University in 1991 and received his master's degree in allied health management from OSU in 1994. During his career, he has worked with the NFL's Washington Redskins and Indianapolis Colts during training camps, and with athletes at Ohio State and the University of South Carolina. He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Ohio Athletic Trainers' Association. He and his wife, Amy, reside in Gahanna. |
